Empowering South Asian College Students

Collegiate Civics Grant Program

Receive up to $500 to host an engaging civics event or initiative on your college campus. Our team will provide step-by-step guidance, resources, and personalized support, helping you every step of the way to make your event a success!

What is the program?

South Asian Americans are now the largest and fastest-growing ethnic minority group in the United States, with a population of over 5.1 million. However, with lower voter participation rates, we must provide our communities with the necessary educational resources to participate in the civic process through and beyond the ballot box. We hope to cultivate a culture of civic participation that begins with our youth and spans generations. College is often the first time people can cast their ballot. Furthermore, collegiate student organizations are typically underfunded and lack the capital and resources to promote civic participation. By providing up to $500 to these organizations, along with the necessary resources for them to carry out a civics-related initiative of their choice, we aim to alleviate this barrier.

The Collegiate Civics Grant Program empowers college students to become active, informed citizens and leaders in their communities. Through financial support and resources, we enable students to develop and implement innovative civics projects on their campuses. Our grants fund initiatives that promote civic engagement, foster active citizenship, and address critical issues affecting our community. We hope to foster a culture of civic engagement among college students, increase voter turnout among South Asian students on college campuses, empower student organizations to lead initiatives that promote civic responsibility, build partnerships with colleges and universities to support ongoing civic engagement efforts.

Are you ready to make an impact on your campus?

Chup, Go Vote! will be offering up to $500 to student organizations on college campuses to facilitate civic engagement initiatives.

Funding will be rolled out based on a need basis. Our team will work closely with campus partners to guide their process of deciding which type of civic education initiative they would like to pursue, formulating a budget, and executing the event. We will be providing event toolkits that serve as step-by-step guides for planning different types of events which include but are not limited to:

  • High traffic canvassing
  • Voter registration drives
  • Tabling at an existing campus event
  • Community roundtable discussions
